What Is Currency in Path of Exile 2?

Path of Exile 2 has no single coin for trading. Its currency is a set of crafting orbs, and each one does a job on an item: the Exalted Orb adds a modifier to a rare, the Divine Orb rerolls the numbers of the modifiers already there, and the Mirror of Kalandra makes a copy of a finished non-unique item. Because every orb is useful in crafting, players accept them as payment on the trade site and in the Currency Exchange.

Gold is the fourth resource. It pays vendors, respecs and Currency Exchange fees, but it is bound to your account and shared by your characters in one league. It cannot be handed over in a trade.

Which Orb Your Item Needs

Look at the item before you look at the packs. A rare with open modifier slots needs Exalted Orbs, because only they add something new. A rare that already has the right modifiers at low values needs Divine Orbs to push the numbers up. Divines also reroll the legacies on a Mageblood, and they do not work on corrupted items.

The Mirror has one purpose: a finished piece you want twice. The copy is identical but cannot be changed afterwards, so finish the rolls first. Mirrors also serve as stored value for one large purchase. If you would rather receive a mixed set of orbs in one order, currency packs in the bundles section combine them.

Orbs by Trade, Gold by Farm

The three orb cards need no login. You name the character at checkout, log in to the chosen league at the agreed time, and check the stack in the trade window before you accept. One order goes to one character in one league.

Gold is farmed on your account in Self Play, Piloted or Remote Control. The booster plays content that drops gold until your balance has grown by the amount you set, and the gold is then usable by every character you have in that league. It is the usual top-up before a larger respec.

Leagues and Hardcore

• Divine, Exalted and Mirror: Forbidden Rites and Runes of Aldur, each in Softcore or Hardcore.
• Gold: Forbidden Rites and Runes of Aldur, Softcore only.

Every variant is a separate economy, and orbs stay in the league where they were delivered. A Forbidden Rites Hardcore character that dies continues in Softcore, so order for the version where it plays now. Gold orders can add Express, which costs extra and gets maximum priority.

When the Currency Arrives

For orbs, the trade usually happens about 15 minutes after the order, or later at a time you set in the order chat. The gold farm starts about 15 minutes after payment and runs at about 15 minutes per 500,000.
