What Are The Venomous Abyss and the Tidebound Grotto in WoW?
The Venomous Abyss is the main raid of Midnight Season 2: 8 bosses on the Coiled Isle, ending with Ula'tek. The Tidebound Grotto is a lair, a one-boss mini-raid for 15–25 players where Nymrissa Wavecaller waits. Its loot is raid gear at the Early tier, and its kills count for the raid row of the Great Vault, just like raid bosses.
Normal and Heroic of both opened on August 18, 2026, with the start of Season 2. Doing them together means one booking, one group and one evening for every Season 2 boss outside Mythic, instead of two separate trips to the Coiled Isle.

The lair sits at the level of the first raid boss, so it adds extra rolls rather than higher numbers. With a priority mode, the spare drops of unsaved boosters go to you in both instances, which is where the Grotto earns its place in the order.
Choosing a Loot Mode for the Bundle
- Group loot (Heroic): standard rolls.
- Unsaved group loot (Heroic): rolls with boosters who have no lockout.
- Armor & token priority: 2–3 up to 5–6 items per roll, by booster count.
- Full priority: 2–3 up to 5–6 items from every boss, by booster count.

Scheduling the Bundle Boost
Heroic raids leave on our raid schedule, and outside it the raid is arranged individually. The lair follows the raid. The lair on its own is sold as a Tidebound Grotto boost, and the raid alone as a Heroic Venomous Abyss run. All other tier services are in the Venomous Abyss catalog.
