What a WoW Forever Raid Boost Covers on December 9

World of Warcraft: Forever, Blizzard's official Classic Plus, launches on November 4, 2026, and its opening raid tier follows five weeks later. Three instances unlock together on December 9: The Barrow Deeps for 10 players, Hyjal Summit for 20 and Onyxia's Lair for 40. A WoW Forever Raid Boost is a booked place in a group that clears one of them, with the loot rule written into the listing before anybody zones in.

The level cap stays at 60 permanently and no seasonal reset wipes characters, so an epic that drops in December still sits in your bags a year later. Motivation is rarely the missing piece. A roster is: ten, twenty or forty people who reached 60 within weeks of launch, carry enough gear and are all free on the same evening. This category exists for that gap.

Only these three WoW Forever raids can be ordered. The story is set before Molten Core, the original level-60 raids are not open, and nothing on this page offers them.

WoW Forever Raid Size: 10, 20 and 40 Players

The developers spelled out the rule in their September 17 Q&A. Every tier ships one 10-player raid and one 20-player raid. There is a single difficulty, and group size does not flex, so the small raid is tuned for exactly ten characters and the large one for exactly twenty. Raids for 40 exist too, but in the team's words "just not every tier". In the first tier that slot belongs to Onyxia.

That is the whole answer to the raid size question: ten, twenty or forty, fixed per instance, one difficulty each. You will not find a difficulty selector in any calculator here, because the game has none.

Three Raids, Three Different Problems

The Barrow Deeps is the small one. It lies under Mount Hyjal and is reached through tunnels that start in Blackmaw Hold, the furbolg dungeon for levels 55–60 in Azshara. The place is a night elf prison, a demon hunter is among the inmates, and corruption has crept in. With ten seats every player is visible and a single absence cancels the evening; a Barrow Deeps run with a formed ten spares you the hunt for nine dependable people in the launch month.

Hyjal Summit doubles the headcount. Someone is draining power around the peak where Malfurion once traded away the night elves' immortality to bring down Archimonde, and ghosts of the Third War walk the snowfields and elven ruins. Twenty players is a guild-sized ask, which shuts out anyone who plays without a guild. The Hyjal Summit carry for the 20-player raid is the way in.

Onyxia's Lair is the only returning raid and the only one built for forty. Blizzard has not said whether the encounter changes or whether an attunement survives. The logistics are certain, though: forty characters at 60 in one cave at one hour. An Onyxia kill inside a full 40-player group solves exactly that.

Raid Sets, Raid Gear and the Legendary: What Is Known

Blizzard has confirmed that new tier sets and a legendary reward are tied to The Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit. Which item the legendary is, which class wields it and what questline leads there remain unrevealed. The same silence covers set bonuses, the number of pieces and which boss carries which token.

Anyone searching for WoW Forever raid sets hits that wall today, and this page will not paper over it: bosses, loot tables, lockouts and attunements are unannounced for all three raids. One detail is public. The appearance of a raid epic enters the collection only of the player who binds the item, unlike dungeon greens and blues, whose looks go to every eligible looter. Collectors therefore need the item to land on their own character.

Once Blizzard publishes loot tables, the listings will name set pieces per class. Until then a Classic Plus raid boost sells a clear and a loot rule, never a specific drop.

Loot Without GDKP: Group Loot or Full Priority

The developers have stated that GDKP runs are not allowed in Forever. Nothing sold here is a gold-bid raid: no gold moves inside the instance, and loot follows the option you tick in the calculator.

  • Group Loot: you roll on drops under the in-game rules next to everyone else. It fits a first look at the raid or a character with many empty slots.
  • Full Priority: every item your class and specialization can use goes to you, tier pieces included. Nobody rolls against you on those.

Neither option decides what the boss drops; chance belongs to the game. Full Priority removes competition, not randomness.

One Raid or All Three

Each raid has its own listing, and a fourth listing combines them. What the character is for decides the pick:

  • Chasing tier pieces: the two new raids, since the sets are tied to them.
  • Little playtime: the 10-player raid, the smallest group to line up with.
  • Here for the dragon: Onyxia alone.
  • The whole tier in its opening stretch: the three-raid package puts every December 9 raid into one order.

From Calculator to Confirmed Clear: How an Order Moves

You can order now; runs start on December 9, 2026. If Blizzard moves that date, nothing lapses: the purchase pauses until the raids really open. Every WoW Forever Raid Boost then travels the same path:

  • You set the options in the listing calculator and pay.
  • The order is offered to vetted boosters and shows "Finding a booster".
  • A booster accepts and is assigned. Cancel before that moment and the full amount comes back.
  • A chat for the purchase links you, the booster and support; the raid evening is agreed there.
  • Proof of the clear is uploaded once the raid is done.
  • You confirm within 72 hours or report an issue. Silence confirms the order automatically after that window.

No clear times are quoted in this category. The beta stops at level 20, later 30, so nobody has timed a level-60 raid, and a number printed today would be made up.

What Your Character Needs Before Raid Night

  • An account with a WoW subscription or Game Time, which already includes Forever.
  • A character at level 60. Getting there is a separate service.
  • At checkout you state your region, which ruleset you picked (Normal, PvP or Roleplaying), Horde or Alliance, the class, and the character's two-part name.

Each ruleset is one large world per region. Players on different rulesets cannot group and cross-faction play does not exist, so ruleset and faction decide which raid group can take you. If Blizzard keeps an attunement for Onyxia's Lair, it can be added to that order; nothing is confirmed yet.

After the First Tier: Spring and Summer 2027

The roadmap already sketches what follows. Spring 2027 brings two more raids, one for 10 and one for 20 players, together with two dungeons and a PvP refresh. Summer 2027 adds a revamped iconic raid plus a new one. None of them has a name yet. Blizzard describes progression as horizontal and the cap does not move, so the December raids are not built to be thrown away when the next ones arrive. If you plan to buy a WoW Forever raid run later in the year, new listings will appear here as soon as the raids are named, and a WoW Forever raid carry for the first tier keeps its value in the meantime. Until then, a WoW Forever Raid Boost means one of three doors: a prison, a summit or a dragon's cave.

Frequently asked questions

What is the raid size in WoW Forever?

Three sizes exist in the first tier: The Barrow Deeps takes 10 players, Hyjal Summit takes 20 and Onyxia's Lair takes 40. According to the developers, every future tier will contain one 10-player and one 20-player raid. Group size is fixed, so a raid cannot be entered with fewer or more players than it was designed for, and a run sold here always fills the full group.

Will WoW Forever have 40-player raids?

Yes. Onyxia's Lair returns as a 40-player raid on December 9, 2026, a date shown on the stage roadmap slide. The developers added that more raids of this size are planned, "just not every tier". The two new raids of the first tier are smaller, at 10 and 20 players, and that pairing is the standard for every tier afterwards.

Do WoW Forever raids have several difficulty levels?

No. The developers confirmed a single difficulty per raid and no flexible scaling. What you see in the listing is therefore the only version of the instance: there is no easier mode to start with and no harder mode to upgrade to. The only choice that changes a run is the loot option, Group Loot or Full Priority.

Which tier sets and raid gear drop in these raids?

Blizzard has said that new tier sets and a legendary reward are tied to The Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit. The item, the class that can use it, the questline, the set bonuses and the boss-by-boss loot tables are all unrevealed. Onyxia's loot has not been announced either. We will name pieces in the listings when official tables exist and not earlier.

Why is there no gold-bid option for loot?

Because the developers have said GDKP runs are not allowed in WoW Forever. Loot in our runs is set by the listing instead. Pick Group Loot and the ordinary roll window decides. Pick Full Priority and gear meant for your class and specialization reaches you uncontested, set tokens too.

If I order today, when does my raid happen?

Not before December 9, 2026, because none of the three raids is open until then. Once you have paid, boosters are shown the job, one takes it, and the two of you settle an evening by chat. A shifted unlock only pauses the purchase. Withdrawing is free of charge for as long as no booster has taken the job.

Can I book Molten Core or another original raid?

No. WoW Forever is set in the first year of the original game, before Molten Core, and the old level-60 raids are not open. The only raids that can be ordered are The Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia's Lair. The roadmap lists further raids for spring and summer 2027, and they will be added once Blizzard names them.

What do I fill in when ordering a raid run?

Five things: where you play, under which ruleset (Normal, PvP or Roleplaying), for which side, as which class, and the character's name in its two halves, a format Forever uses so that every name stays unique within a region. The raider has to be capped, and the account must carry Game Time or a subscription. Ruleset and faction matter because groups cannot mix rulesets or factions.
