Around the raid lies Mount Hyjal the zone, Forever's endgame territory with reputations of its own, so the summit crowns a place you will already be questing in at 60. Who does the draining is the mystery the raid is meant to answer; Blizzard has named no bosses.

Twenty Players: A Guild-Sized Threshold

Ten people can be a circle of friends. Twenty is an organisation: officers, a sign-up sheet, a bench, a loot council or at least a long argument about one. The Classic Plus Hyjal raid comes in one difficulty and refuses to scale, so nineteen will not do and no lighter mode rescues an incomplete roster.

That leaves three kinds of players outside the door in December: those without a guild, those whose guild is still levelling, and those whose raid nights clash with work. A Hyjal Summit carry is built for them: the twenty are assembled by the booster, and you occupy one of the places.

Blizzard announced fresh class sets plus one legendary for the summit and for its ten-player neighbour under the mountain. That is the full extent of what is public. How many pieces a set has, which encounter drops which slot, what the bonuses do, which class the legendary belongs to and what questline unlocks it: all unrevealed.

One rule is known and matters for collectors. A raid epic teaches its look solely to whoever binds it, so watching a piece go to another raider adds nothing to your wardrobe.
