What Is Dragonspine Trophy in TBC Anniversary?

Dragonspine Trophy, usually shortened to DST, is an item level 125 trinket that drops from Gruul the Dragonkiller in Gruul's Lair. The raid opened on 19 February in Phase 1, together with Karazhan and Magtheridon, and it needs no attunement at all, so any level 70 character can be brought in.

Gruul's Lair is a 25-player raid with only two encounters: High King Maulgar with his four council members, then Gruul himself. Gruul also drops the Tier 4 leg tokens, and Maulgar the shoulder tokens, so the lair stays on the weekly route of many TBC Anniversary groups even in Phase 3.

How the DST Carry Is Played

Your character joins a Gruul's Lair clear of about 30 minutes. If the trophy does not drop, the next reset brings a new run; the order closes when DST is in your bags. Since Gruul dies once per reset, a short run still means one chance a week, which is why the average is 2–3 resets.

From 22 October every Gruul's Lair boss also drops Badges of Justice, a small extra on each attempt.
