What Is the Mercenary in Path of Exile 2?
The Mercenary is one of the 8 classes in Path of Exile 2, with three ascendancies: Tactician, Witchhunter and Gemling Legionnaire. Two of the named presets on this card are Witchhunter grenade setups, which makes it the place for a poe 2 witchhunter build. A poe 2 gemling legionnaire build or a Tactician setup goes through Specific Build: you describe it, and the booster confirms it fits your tier.
An ascendancy, once taken, cannot be swapped for another. Its nodes can be respecced for gold, so a Witchhunter can change setups within Witchhunter, but not become a Gemling Legionnaire.
Grenades and Dodge Roll: the Mercenary Presets
Oil Grenade Witchhunter and Explosive Grenade Witchhunter share the ascendancy and differ in the grenade that carries the damage. Dodge Roll Autobomber Build takes its name and its playstyle from Dodge Roll. Specific Build covers anything else you want on the class. If your Mercenary already has an ascendancy, choose a preset on the same path.
What Build Power Changes in the Mercenary Boost

Tick the level box if your Mercenary is already at that level, and the calculator takes the leveling off. A character far below it can be levelled first with PoE 2 power leveling.
Buy Mercenary Build: Leagues, Modes and Timing
Pick Forbidden Rites (Softcore only), Runes of Aldur or Standard, the last two in Softcore or Hardcore. Self Play, Piloted and Remote Control are offered, with Stream available for Piloted orders. Express execution is the paid extra for maximum priority at start and completion.
Work starts within about 30 minutes. Expect about 12 hours for the full boost. If you have your own grenade plan with exact items in mind, a custom build fits better, and single pieces can be made through gear crafting. The rest of the classes are in the PoE 2 build boosts overview.
