What Are Dungeons in TBC Anniversary?
The Burning Crusade has 16 five-player dungeons. Fifteen are live on TBC Anniversary realms: three Hellfire Citadel wings, three in Coilfang Reservoir, four in Auchindoun, two in the Caverns of Time and three Tempest Keep satellites. Magisters' Terrace, the sixteenth, arrives with Phase 4 and the Sunwell.
On Normal these dungeons move a character through the 60s with blue gear and faction standing. On Heroic, at level 70, every boss drops a Badge of Justice for each player and the end boss always leaves a Primal Nether. That makes heroics the steady road to pre-raid epics on a Fresh TBC character.

Heroic Keys and Locked Doors
Heroic mode needs a key for every group member: Flamewrought for Hellfire Citadel, Reservoir for Coilfang, Auchenai for Auchindoun, Warpforged for Tempest Keep and the Key of Time for the Caverns. The account-wide Communal key comes at Revered until October 22 and at Honored from patch day on. Piloted and Remote Control orders can add the key to the run; on Self Play you bring your own.
A few doors stay shut even on Normal. The Shattered Halls, Shadow Labyrinth and The Arcatraz each have their own key, and The Black Morass opens only after "Escape from Durnholde Keep" in Old Hillsbrad. To get all five heroic keys in one order, the heroic keys attunement boost farms the reputations behind them.
Which Heroic Carry Pays the Most Badges
Badges per heroic clear differ by dungeon: Shadow Labyrinth and The Underbog give 4; The Slave Pens, The Steamvault, Mana-Tombs, Old Hillsbrad and The Black Morass give 3; Auchenai Crypts and Sethekk Halls give 2. The daily heroic quest adds its own badges on top of the bosses. In Shattrath, G'eras exchanges the badges for epic items, Primal Nethers and Nether Vortex.
From October 22, raid bosses drop Badges of Justice too and G'eras gets a bigger stock, so badge farming gets a second source. Heroics stay the place for item hunts: Pathaleon for the Abacus, Temporus for the Hourglass. Standing comes along with the kills, Lower City from the Crypts and the Consortium from Mana-Tombs; for a full bar to Exalted, the TBC Anniversary reputations section is the faster buy.
When Your Dungeon Boost Starts
The first run usually begins about 1.5 hours after payment, and one clear takes about 2 hours. A daily heroic order covers one daily per day, so ten days of dailies run across ten calendar days. Magisters' Terrace is sold as a pre-order: it opens with Phase 4, and orders are played once the dungeon reaches Anniversary realms.
Frequently asked questions
When can you start my dungeon runs?
Usually about 1.5 hours after payment. Magisters' Terrace orders start when Phase 4 opens the dungeon.
How long does a TBC Anniversary dungeon boost take?
About 2 hours for one clear. A ten-run order takes longer in total, and the daily heroic covers one dungeon per day.
Do I need a key for Heroic dungeons?
Yes, every group member needs the key of that dungeon group. Until October 22 the Communal key needs Revered, after that Honored. Piloted and Remote Control orders can add the key.
Can I pre-order Magisters' Terrace?
Yes. The card books 1 to 10 Normal or Heroic clears now, and they are played once Phase 4 brings Magisters' Terrace to Anniversary realms.
