What Is Heroic Venomous Abyss in WoW Midnight?

Heroic is the Hero difficulty of The Venomous Abyss, the 8-boss raid on the Coiled Isle that opened with Season 2 on August 18. Its last boss, Ula'tek, awards Ahead of the Curve: Ula'tek, the Feat of Strength that raid leaders and Mythic+ groups check on an application. The feat carries no mount or title, and it stays obtainable until Season 2 ends.

The same kill completes Midnight Season 2: Serpent Scion. Its reward is a Crystallized Venomblight Manaflux, a Catalyst charge that turns an item into its tier version.

Hero Item Levels from the Heroic Boost

Nek'zali drops 305, Entombed Sentinels and The Lost Explorers 308, and Vashnik, Sszorak and The Twin Fangs 311. The Coiled Altar and Ula'tek close the raid at 315, and Very Rare pieces from Heroic reach 322. Five bosses carry Tier 36 tokens for hands, shoulders, chest, legs and head; Ula'tek adds the Slumbering Coil Curio.

The vault is where Heroic pays a second time. Raid choices earned here come at 318, Myth 1, the same level as the first Mythic boss. For many players that is the most direct route to Myth-track items without a Mythic roster.

Scope and Loot Options of the Heroic Raid Carry

• Group loot with three scopes: 8/8 for the full clear and the feat, 6/8 for the five token bosses without the finale, or the last 2 bosses.
• Unsaved group loot: the group includes boosters without a Heroic save, so more drops can reach you.
• Armor & token priority: armor of your type and Tier 36 tokens go to you first, 10 to 26 unsaved boosters.
• Full priority: every item your class can use, on 6/8 or on 8/8 with the Tidebound Grotto included.

Play modes: Piloted, Self Play or Remote Control; Remote Control means a booster clears Heroic on your PC via Parsec. With priority, the booster count sets the haul, from 2–3 up to 5–6 items from every boss; with Group loot on 8/8, Unsaved group loot or token priority with 10 boosters, the Grotto is a discounted add-on.
