The Bulwark of Azzinoth is an item level 151 shield dropped by Illidan Stormrage, the ninth and last boss of Black Temple. The temple arrived with Phase 3 of TBC Anniversary on 27 August 2026, and Illidan's loot table is the top of the current phase: the same kill can drop the item level 156 Warglaives of Azzinoth and the Memento of Tyrande.

For a tank, it fills the shield slot with an item level 151 piece from the last boss of the phase. Sunwell Plateau, the next raid, has no release date yet, so a Bulwark earned now stays relevant for a long stretch of Fresh TBC.

Getting the Shield with a Black Temple Boost

After payment, your character joins our temple raid on a reset that suits you and goes from Naj'entus through Supremus, the Illidari Council and Mother Shahraz up to Illidan. If the Bulwark drops, the order is complete; if not, the same climb is repeated on the next reset at no added cost.

Boss drops are random. On average such an item takes 2–3 resets, and some orders finish on the first night.
