What Is Madness of the Betrayer in TBC Anniversary?
Madness of the Betrayer is an item level 141 trinket for physical damage dealers. It drops from the Illidari Council, the eighth encounter of Black Temple, where High Nethermancer Zerevor and the rest of Illidan's council are fought together. Black Temple opened on TBC Anniversary with Phase 3 on 27 August.
Trinkets change hands rarely in a raid group: each boss offers only a few, and every melee player and hunter in the roster wants the same one. That makes Madness one of the most contested items in the temple.

A 16 item level jump in one slot is a large gain for a physical damage dealer, and it is why many players plan their Phase 3 week around the Council.
How the Madness Trinket Carry Runs
Once paid, your character goes through Black Temple to the Council each reset; a full temple clear takes about 2 hours. When Madness drops, it goes to you, and the order closes. Runs take place on EU and US realms, for Alliance and Horde alike.
Black Temple needs no attunement, so any level 70 character can enter.
Ordering Options in the Calculator

- Self Play: you join the raid yourself, with no skill or gear required.
- Remote Control: a booster plays on your PC.
- Gold: 300 to 2,000 gold sent along for gems and enchants.
- Live stream: a private stream for Piloted and Remote Control orders.
