What Is the Verdant Sphere in TBC Anniversary?
The Verdant Sphere is a quest item that drops from Kael'thas Sunstrider, the last boss of Tempest Keep: The Eye. It is not gear by itself: looting it starts a quest, and the reward from that quest is what players are after. Because it drops from the final boss of a 25-player raid, only characters that are present for a Kael'thas kill can ever loot it.
On TBC Anniversary The Eye has been open since Phase 2 began on 14 May, and it needs no attunement since Phase 3. That leaves one obstacle: a group that kills Kael'thas and is willing to give you the Sphere.
What the Verdant Sphere Boost Includes
The order is simple on purpose. You join a full run of The Eye, and the Verdant Sphere is assigned to you once Kael'thas dies. The calculator adds two extras:
- Gold: 300, 500, 1,000, 1,500 or 2,000 delivered alongside the order.
- Live stream: a private broadcast of the run, available in Self Play and Piloted.
The Sphere can be taken in three ways: Self Play on your own character, Piloted, or Remote Control. Self Play needs no gear and no raid experience.
How Long the Sphere Carry Takes
A full clear of The Eye lasts 60–90 minutes, Kael'thas included, and the Sphere is yours as soon as he dies. Since Phase 3 The Eye needs no attunement, so no quest chain stands between you and the run; you only need a free lockout this week. The start is agreed with the raid leader on your realm in the order chat.
Combine the Sphere With Other Raid Orders
Players who also want the rest of the loot can buy the Tempest Keep boost and add the Sphere there. Both Phase 2 raids, with the Sphere as an option, are part of the Phase 2 All Raids Boost. A quest item of the same kind drops from Magtheridon and is sold as the Magtheridon's Head boost. All raid services are in the TBC Anniversary raid section.
