TBC Anniversary
TBC Anniversary Zhar'doom, Greatstaff of the Devourer Boost
A TBC Anniversary Zhar'doom, Greatstaff of the Devourer Boost gets your caster the item level 151 staff that Illidan Stormrage drops in Black Temple. Expect around 2–3 resets; your booster names the start time in the order chat.
Overview
Buy WoW TBC Zhar'doom, Greatstaff of the Devourer Boost and get Illidan's item level 151 caster staff on your character. A two-hand caster weapon replaces main hand and off-hand in one drop, yet it sits behind the hardest boss of the phase; you stop waiting for a guild kill and stop losing the roll to other casters.

What Is Zhar'doom, Greatstaff of the Devourer in TBC Anniversary?
Zhar'doom, Greatstaff of the Devourer is a caster staff at item level 151, one of the rewards for killing Illidan Stormrage at the end of Black Temple. Phase 3 of TBC Anniversary has two top caster weapon routes: this staff, which fills both hands at once, or a main-hand weapon with an off-hand. A staff saves you from collecting two separate drops, which makes it attractive for casters who have not finished either slot.
Staff or Sword and Off-hand?
| Option | Item level | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Zhar'doom, Greatstaff of the Devourer | 151 staff | Illidan, Black Temple |
| Tempest of Chaos plus an off-hand | 151 main-hand sword | Archimonde, Hyjal |
The sword route needs two items from different sources, while the staff needs one kill of one boss. If you already own a strong off-hand, the Tempest of Chaos boost may suit you better. Casters chasing both of Illidan's best caster items often add the Skull of Gul'dan boost for the trinket slot.
Configuring the Staff Boost
The calculator has three methods: Piloted, with the booster playing your character; Self Play, where you join our raid; and Remote Control. Under Gold you can add 300, 500, 1,000, 1,500 or 2,000 gold, which pays for a weapon enchant or new gems; bigger sums are on the TBC Anniversary gold page. Piloted and Remote Control orders can also include a live stream.
Resets and the Drop
Illidan is the ninth encounter of a roughly 2-hour clear, and each character gets one shot at his loot per reset. Without the staff on a given week, your character goes back after the reset, and the order stays active until Zhar'doom drops. On average that takes 2–3 resets. The exact week is never known in advance.
No Black Temple attunement is needed, so any level 70 caster can be brought in, and your booster names the start time in the order chat. Other Phase 3 weapons and armor are in the TBC Anniversary gear boost catalog.
Frequently asked questions
When can the Zhar'doom boost start?
The booster confirms the start time in the order chat.
How long until I get the staff?
2–3 resets on average. Illidan can be looted once per reset, and the order runs until the staff drops.
Should I take the staff or Tempest of Chaos?
Take the staff if both your main-hand and off-hand still need upgrades. If you already have a good off-hand, the Archimonde sword is the more direct route to a 151 weapon.
Can I raid on my own character?
Yes. Choose Self Play. Piloted is for players who want the booster to play.
