What Is Skinning in TBC Anniversary?
Skinning is the gathering profession that takes leather, hides and scales from dead beasts and dragonkin. You need a skill high enough for the creature's level before you can skin it. In The Burning Crusade the cap is 375, and the beasts of Outland are where the valuable leather comes from.
Unlike herbs and ore, skins are not fought over at nodes: every beast you kill is a chance to skin. That makes skinning popular as a partner for leveling characters and for leatherworkers who need a steady supply. While you quest, every beast killed for an objective turns into extra leather to sell.
Skinning Boost Settings and Options
On the slider you set your skill now and the target, from 1 to 375. A TBC Anniversary skinning 375 order covers the whole span; a top-up from 300 covers only the Outland stretch. Outland leather and scales collected along the way are yours to keep, sell or turn into armor. The early zones of a full climb add a pile of lower-level leather too, handy for an alt.

Skinning and the Trades That Need It
Skinning for leatherworking is the classic pairing: the leatherworking boost turns everything you skin into armor, drums and kits. Need coins sooner than the leather sells?
