What Are Boss Materials in Diablo 4?
Boss materials in Diablo 4 are now keys and nothing else. The old summoning items such as Living Steel and Shards of Agony are gone, and every lair boss opens with a key of its tier. Lair bosses are Torment content, open from Torment I. The pinnacle Echo of Mephisto in Skovos takes a Crux of the False Prophet and drops a guaranteed Mythic Unique on every kill since patch 3.2.1.
Keys climb the ladder. Lair Keys drop in War Plans, Nightmare Dungeons, Helltides, Kurast Undercity and from world bosses, and Season Rank rewards add a few. Initiate bosses drop the Greater Lair Keys, Greater bosses rarely drop Superior ones, and a Superior Lair Key also comes from a random Ambush after other lair boss kills.

How to Buy Lair Boss Keys
Set the realm first, Seasonal or Eternal, Softcore or Hardcore, then the boss and the slider from 1 to 250 keys. Express delivery moves the trade ahead of the standard queue for an added charge, and the Extra gold box adds coin to the same handover. The only method on this card is Self Play: you receive the keys on your own hero and fight the bosses yourself.
