What Is the Campaign in Diablo 4?

Diablo 4 tells its story in three campaigns. The base story shipped with the game in June 2023. Vessel of Hatred followed in October 2024 and moved the fight to Nahantu. Lord of Hatred arrived in April 2026, opened Skovos and its city Temis, and closes with the final fight against Mephisto. The two expansion stories need their expansion on the account.

A single clear matters more than the plot. It unlocks the campaign skip for the account on every realm, and once Lord of Hatred is done, each new hero can start in Vessel of Hatred, Lord of Hatred or Story Complete with the endgame already open. That start choice is permanent per hero. The Horadric Cube is gained during the Lord of Hatred campaign, and Tyrael opens War Plans in Temis after it.

Which Campaign to Buy

CampaignWhere it playsWhat the clear opens
Story campaignThe five base regionsThe skip for every later hero on the account
Vessel of Hatred campaignNahantuThe quest that lights the Spirit Brazier of Kurast Undercity
Lord of Hatred campaignSkovos and TemisHoradric Cube, War Plans and the Story Complete start

If you own both expansions, the Lord of Hatred campaign boost is usually the one to buy, because that clear unlocks the current endgame hub. A Vessel of Hatred campaign boost fits a hero who still needs Nahantu finished before Kurast Undercity runs. The base Story option suits a new account that wants its first skip.

How Long the Story Boost Takes

One campaign takes about 5–6 hours of play, and the booster starts 15–30 minutes after checkout. Hardcore heroes cost more and need longer, since a one-life character is played with extra care. With Express the order jumps the queue for both start and finish. The story is played Piloted, Self Play or by Remote Control, with a Live stream on request.

Campaign Options and Next Steps

The price follows two choices: the campaign and the realm. A Seasonal Softcore hero costs least; Eternal and Hardcore cost more. Extra gold adds a stack of coin to the finished order, useful for the first enchant rerolls in the endgame.

A fresh hero that also needs levels can take Diablo 4 power leveling with campaign completion ticked, and a full build package sits on the character boost card. After Lord of Hatred, the War Plans table is the next stop. Every other leveling service is listed in the Diablo 4 leveling section.

Frequently asked questions

When can you start my campaign?

Within 15–30 minutes of payment. Add Express and your order is picked up before standard ones.

How long does one campaign take?

About 5–6 hours per campaign on a Softcore hero. Hardcore takes longer, because the booster plays a one-life character more slowly.

Will my next hero have to replay the story?

No. One finished campaign unlocks the skip for the whole account on every realm. After Lord of Hatred, a new hero can start in Vessel of Hatred, Lord of Hatred or Story Complete.

Do I need the expansions?

Only for their campaigns: Vessel of Hatred for the Nahantu story, Lord of Hatred for Skovos. A Paladin or Warlock needs Lord of Hatred, and a Spiritborn needs Vessel of Hatred, whatever campaign you order.
