Buy WoW Forever Skinning Boost if the knife work should be finished while your evenings go to quests and dungeons. On offer are 1–150, 150–225, 225–300 and Full Skinning 1–300; the booster kills and skins creatures of fitting strength until your profession window displays the promised figure.

A skill that follows your kills

Skinning is the one gathering profession without a map route. Nobody memorises nodes here: a skinnable carcass is the node, and the skill a carcass demands climbs together with the creature's level. For that reason WoW Forever Skinning leveling usually trails a few steps behind the character's own level — and freezes the moment you switch to dungeons and group play, where carcasses are shared or simply left lying.

Two kinds of players end up on this page. Some have a grown character that picked up the knife late and would now have to revisit grey beasts in forgotten valleys. Others have a newborn character and want leather flowing from week one of an economy where nobody owns anything yet.

What early footage shows: Beasts, Dragonkin and rare hides

Clips filmed ahead of launch show skinners dealing +5% damage to Beasts and Dragonkin and occasionally pulling rare hides. Both belong to unfinished builds, and Blizzard has confirmed neither in writing. If the passive survives, it reaches well past farming: Beasts populate every leveling zone, and Dragonkin is the family guarding Onyxia's Lair, the forty-player raid pencilled in for December 9. Read this as a possibility, never as the reason to buy.

Hides, the Tanning Rack and your camp

Forever's camping gives each profession three camp objects. Trainers teach the first at skill 20; the advanced pair is assembled from Blueprints found on dungeon bosses, and a camp that gathers 5 and later 10 objects sees its campfire upgraded. For leather users one object outweighs the rest: Blizzard states that the Tanning Rack is required for advanced Leatherworking recipes. So a leatherworker needs two things simultaneously — a rack standing in camp and hides arriving steadily. WoW Forever Skinning is where the hides arrive from.

Six hundred-odd recipes are being added over all trade skills, and which leather tier will be fought over is anyone's guess. With 300 on the bar you can skin whatever ends up mattering.

Inside the WoW Forever Skinning Boost: ranges and the Leather Farm

• 1–150. The opening on weak beasts; an empty primary slot is all it asks.
• 150–225. Creatures of the middle map; the character must stand its ground there.
• 225–300. The most dangerous beasts, right up to the ceiling.
• Full Skinning. Skinning 1-300 WoW Forever as a single purchase, for a character already welcome in late-game territory.
• Leather Farm at 300. Optional extra hunting once the bar is full.

Kills made for the WoW Forever Skinning Boost pay ordinary experience as well, so a character under 60 gains a few levels on the side. Hours are not quoted anywhere here: spawn density, launch-week crowds and final tuning stay unknown until November.
