What Is Upper Blackrock Spire in WoW Forever?
Upper Blackrock Spire is the summit of the Blackrock orc fortress, the part of the mountain where the orcs and the black dragonflight share command. The run passes Pyroguard Emberseer in the Hall of Blackhand, the Rookery full of black dragon whelps and the arena where Warchief Rend Blackhand comes down on his drake. It ends in the hall of General Drakkisath, who guards the spire in the name of the black dragons.
For WoW Forever players, UBRS is the closest thing to a raid before the raids open. It is long, dense with elites and dragon-themed, and its boss items share the Forever rule for unique dungeon loot: blue or better.
How to Buy a UBRS Boost
- Set the run count. One clear covers spire quests and the Drakkisath kill; several add more rolls at the items you need.
- Pick the loot rule. Normal for group rolls, Loot Priority if every drop your class and spec can use should go to you.
- Choose who plays. Piloted, Self Play or Remote Control.

UBRS Run Time and Start
A full clear lasts 60–90 minutes. The game lets characters into the upper spire from level 48, and the recommended band is 55–60. A Self Play character close to 55 handles the Rookery and Rend's arena much better than one at 48.

The first WoW Forever raids open on December 9: The Barrow Deeps for 10 players, Hyjal Summit for 20 and Onyxia's Lair for 40. The weeks between launch and that date are when characters build their pre-raid set, which usually takes about 7–10 days.
