The WoW Forever talent calculator above lets you plan a build for every class before the game goes live on November 4, 2026. Pick a class, set your level and click talents. The planner follows the Classic rules, so it won't let you spend a point you couldn't spend in game.
No account is needed for any of that. Scroll on if you want the details: controls, how rows open up, the tree names per class and the bits Blizzard has actually changed in Classic Plus.
How to use the WoW Forever talent calculator
- Choose a class. All nine are there, and each opens with its three trees side by side. On a phone they stack.
- Set your character level. The selector runs from 1 to 60 and limits how many points you can place.
- Add points. Click or tap a talent. Right-click, Shift+click or long-press takes a point back. Keyboard users can press Enter or + to add and Delete or - to remove.
- Read the tooltip. Hover, focus or tap a talent to see its current rank, the next rank and what it still needs.
- Undo or reset. Ctrl+Z steps back one change. Reset clears a single tree or the whole build.
Under the trees you'll see the points spent per tree and the required level. That number tells you the lowest level at which the build is legal. If it's higher than the level you picked, the planner warns you instead of quietly cutting talents.
Talent points and rows in WoW Forever
Talents start at level 10 with a single point, then every ding hands you one more. Do the sum and you land on 51 at 60, which the game won't let you exceed. The quick maths for common checkpoints:
| Character level | Talent points (base) | With Talented rank 5 |
|---|---|---|
| 10 | 1 | 6 |
| 20 | 11 | 16 |
| 30 | 21 | 26 |
| 40 | 31 | 36 |
| 55 | 46 | 51 |
| 60 | 51 | 51 |
Each tree has seven rows. Row two opens once you've put 5 points into that same tree, row three at 10, and so on, until the bottom row asks for 30. Points in other trees don't count. Some talents also have an arrow pointing at them. That's a prerequisite, and it has to be fully ranked before the talent below becomes available. If you're mapping out which talents to grab on the way up, our WoW Forever leveling guide covers the zones you'll pass through at each of these levels.
One more rule trips people up. You can't pull a point out if that would leave a lower row or a dependent talent without enough support. The calculator simply refuses the click, the same way the in-game trainer does.
The Talented Legacy perk
Blizzard says Talented lets you unlock talent points up to five levels earlier than normal. In the planner it's a toggle with five ranks. Rank 1 starts your points at level 9, rank 5 at level 5. Your total never goes past 51, so the perk only changes how soon you get there. Turn it on and watch the required level drop. The perk comes from the account-wide Legacy track, which our guide to the WoW Forever Legacy system explains perk by perk.
Classes and talent trees in WoW Forever
All nine classes keep three trees each, with the names you already know. Here's the lineup the calculator uses, with the main job of each tree:
| Class | Talent trees | Typical role |
|---|---|---|
| Warrior | Arms, Fury, Protection | Melee damage, melee damage, tank |
| Paladin | Holy, Protection, Retribution | Holy heals, Protection tanks, Ret does melee damage |
| Hunter | Beast Mastery, Marksmanship, Survival | All three shoot from range; BM leans on the pet |
| Rogue | Assassination, Combat, Subtlety | Melee damage in all three |
| Priest | Discipline, Holy, Shadow | Healer, healer, spell damage |
| Shaman | Elemental, Enhancement, Restoration | Spell damage, melee damage, healer |
| Mage | Arcane, Fire, Frost | Spell damage in all three |
| Warlock | Affliction, Demonology, Destruction | Spell damage in all three |
| Druid | Balance, Feral Combat, Restoration | Spell damage, melee damage or bear tank, healer |
The trees are where the surprises are, though. The current data puts some unfamiliar talents deep in the trees, such as Riptide at the bottom of Restoration Shaman and Lava Burst for Elemental. Most trees also hold a few points more or less than 51 right now, so don't read the totals as final. Still torn between classes? The best starting class in WoW Forever guide compares how each one plays early on.
What changed from the original Classic talents
Blizzard's WoW Forever Deep Dive panel recap describes the talent rework as familiar on purpose. Here's what it confirms:
- Same frame. Trees keep the same number of rows, and the one-point milestone talents still sit at 11, 21 and 31 points.
- A new 16-point milestone. Blizzard announced it, but the compiled trees don't show it yet. Expect it to appear once fresher data comes in.
- Buff talents made baseline. Divine Spirit, Blessing of Kings and Improved Mark of the Wild no longer cost points, which frees a few for other picks.
- Combined hit and crit. Spell, melee and ranged hit are now one stat, and the same goes for crit. Hybrids get more out of a single gear set.
- Paladin tweaks. Holy Strike arrives at level 6, Seal of Fury gives Protection a tanking seal whose Judgement taunts, and Consecration is baseline at 20.
Some talents are still exactly the 1.12 versions, while others were adjusted. When a tooltip reads slightly differently from what you remember, that's probably intended.
The Skills tab: abilities and racials
Switch to Skills and you get every class ability sorted by the level you learn it. You can filter to your current level or collapse ranks into one line. Small badges point out what's different: New in Forever, Level changed and Now trainable. Paladin is the busiest example. Holy Strike shows up at 6, Seal of Fury at 10, and Blessing of Kings becomes something you train at 20.
Racial abilities follow the race you select, and the list only offers races that can play the chosen class. That includes both Skyborne options, High Order and Windshaper. If you're curious where Skyborne characters begin, the WoW Forever new zones guide covers Zephras Isle and the rest of the new map.
Sharing, exporting and saving builds
Every change updates the page address, so the link in your browser is always your current build. Hit Copy link and send it to a friend or a guildmate. It opens the same talents, level and Talented rank for them, no login needed. The Export box gives you a plain summary like "Arms 31 / Fury 20 / Protection 0" plus that link, which is handy for Discord.
Want to keep a few builds around, say a leveling spec and a raid spec? Saving named builds needs a free SkillCarry account. Each saved build gets a short link anyone can open. Once your plan is set and you'd rather skip the grind, you can look at our WoW Forever boosting options, which can be ordered now with work starting on November 4: leveling to 60 for the leveling spec and raid carries for the raid spec once the raids open.
A note on beta data
These trees come from community-compiled BlizzCon testing and stream footage. The beta runs until October 21, and the data will be refreshed once the beta client has been datamined. Talent names, ranks and positions can still move. A few tooltips are blank for now, Mutilate among them, simply because no text has been captured yet. We'll update the calculator when newer data lands. Old links may then open slightly corrected builds, since the planner always snaps a build back to legal rules.
Talent names and tooltips are shown in English on every language version of the page.
WoW Forever Talent Calculator FAQ
Is there a talent calculator for WoW Forever?
Yes. The WoW Forever talent calculator on this page covers all nine classes and their 27 talent trees. It follows the Classic rules for points, rows and prerequisites, adds a level selector and the Talented Legacy perk, and lets you share any build with one link. It runs in the browser on desktop and mobile, and planning or sharing doesn't need an account.
How many talent points do you get in WoW Forever?
You get 51 talent points at the level 60 cap. The first one arrives at level 10, then you earn one every level. The Talented Legacy perk can start that flow up to five levels sooner, down to level 5 at rank 5, but it doesn't raise the total. You'll still end with 51 points, just earlier.
At what level do you unlock talents in WoW Forever?
Talents open at level 10 by default. With the Talented perk from the Legacy system, rank 1 moves your first point to level 9 and each extra rank shaves off another level, so rank 5 gives you talents at level 5. The calculator shows the required level for every build, so you can see exactly when a plan becomes possible.
What talent trees does each class have in WoW Forever?
Nothing got renamed. A Warrior still picks between Arms, Fury and Protection, a Druid between Balance, Feral Combat and Restoration, and the table above lists the other seven classes. The talents inside those trees have changed, though. Some are the old 1.12 versions, some were reworked, and a few look entirely new in the current data.
Did talents change in WoW Forever compared with Classic?
Some did. Open any tree and it'll look familiar: seven rows, and you still get those one-point milestone talents at 11, 21 and 31. Blizzard also promised an extra milestone at 16. Divine Spirit, Blessing of Kings and Improved Mark of the Wild are now baseline. Hit and crit were also merged across spells, melee and ranged.
Can I save and share my WoW Forever build?
Sharing is free and needs no login. Copy the link and anyone who opens it sees the same talents, level and Talented rank. You can also export a text summary. If you'd like to store several named builds, create a free SkillCarry account. Saved builds get a short link that works for anyone you send it to.
Does the calculator show class skills and racial abilities?
Yes, the Skills tab lists class abilities by the level you learn them. Badges mark anything new in WoW Forever, anything that moved to a different level and anything that's now trainable. Racials change with the race you pick, including both Skyborne variants, and only races allowed for your class appear in the list.
How accurate is the WoW Forever talent data right now?
It's beta data. The trees were put together by the community from BlizzCon testing and streams, and they'll change once the beta client is datamined. Treat exact talent positions and per-tree point totals as provisional. The rules themselves, 51 points and a row every 5 points, match what Blizzard has described, and we'll refresh the calculator as data improves.
